Re: House training and biting!!!!!

Have you tried the yelping like another pup when he bites? He doesn't understand your language yet so you need to use a bit of his. Moose has always had a million toys too, but his favourite when he was a little teething pup was an old croquet mallet head he found - basically a hunk of wood he could...

Agility

Hi all Just wondering if anyone else does agility with their sheltie/s. Moose is in his 2nd term and none of his 1st term classmates showing up meant we got put in with people in their 3rd and 4th terms! Moose did a lot better than I did (some serious coordination required with training some obstacl...

Re: My lovely cute puppy Sheltie Tzu

They will eat anything. It's amazing what they think is food! Moose grew out of eating poo. I read that they usually get sick from eating it and then stop, but fortunately he just seemed to grow out of it. He still eats insects - its funny to watch him and my cat compete to get something :D

Re: My lovely cute puppy Sheltie Tzu

It's definitely not a ladle! When they are growing so fast as puppies they need a bit more than once they are full grown. You want to be careful not to overfeed because it can be hard to get weight off once it's on, but that's less of an issue when they're soaking it all up. Speaking very generally ...

Re: My lovely cute puppy Sheltie Tzu

That has got to be one of the cutest puppies ever!!!! Keep an eye out for the teeth that are falling out - I found one of Moose's and I like having it as a reminder that I've had him since he was such a little guy. I know exactly how you feel about LoveyDovey - the bond is crazy eh.

Re: House training and biting!!!!!

Have a read through this recent thread addressing both biting and toilet training for a pup just a couple of weeks younger than yours at the time http://www.sheltieplanet.com/forum/post2513.html#p2513 You really do have to have your eye on them every second when they are that young. I didn't get Moo...

Re: vaccinations

Moose was a very unhappy boy for the day when he got his annual shots this year, but we go anywhere and everywhere (so the full regimen is recommended) and I can't stand the thought of something happening to him that I could have prevented. When I compare a day a year where he is quiet and sleeps a ...

Re: Hello - New to forum from Canada

I love how you guys are talking about the family relationships :) One of Moose's brothers lives quite locally so it's cool to keep in touch. As for size and growing, Moose was available because he was expected to be well out of size, but it turned out he just did all his growing early on and then st...

Re: Sheltie Names & Nicknames

Thanks for the moose story dlmitchell - what an amazing experience!!! I saw one in a wildlife park in Kamloops but you could tell it had spent a long time in captivity. One of these days I'll get back over and make sure I see one... I did catch a glimpse of an elk when in Canmore - are they agile or...
